On Thursday I had the privilege and the pleasure of having lunch with Armin DeFiesta. I found him by sheer coincidence on Facebook and we talked for a few days before agreeing to have lunch. We ate at Chadwick’s on The Strand in Old Town Alexandria and enjoyed some wonderful conversation. Much to my surprise, at the end of lunch, Armin asked if I had a few minutes for a quick photo session. Of course I said, “YES!!!!!!”
Above are only a few of the shots he took and I can’t thank him enough for taking time out of his busy schedule to meet with me! It is very rare that I am on the other side of a camera lens so this was a very new experience. Armin kept telling me to relax and enjoy myself – but the entire time I kept hearing my mom saying, “sit up straight”; “put your shoulders back”; “cross your legs like a lady” … ha! Thanks a lot MOM!!!

Armin DeFiesta is definitely one of those few professionals who is not only a pleasure to work with, but is also a good friend. One of his unique takes on wedding photography is putting together a slide show of photos from the days events before the reception. The show is played on a laptop during the cocktail hour and into the reception so the couple’s guests can enjoy some choice photos early.
